YOUR DAILY MORNING

HOUR OF POWER

The first hour of your morning holds a very special power to shape the entire trajectory of your day and beyond. Modern Science has shown that embracing a daily morning hour of power will transform your morning into a serene and invigorating ritual and habit that empowers you mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

During most of your waking hours throughout the day, your brain operates in a physical realm known asthe “beta wave stage.” Your beta brain waves operate between 14 and 30 HZ. However, when you first awaken in the morning after a long night’s sleep, your brain operates in a slower and more relaxed physical realm known asthe “alpha wave stage.” Your alpha brain waves operate between 7 and 14 HZ. Your brain’s alpha wave stage makes you more receptive and creative and less critical. Whatever you feed your alpha brain during your first waking hour becomes deeply embedded within your conscious, subconscious, and unconscious minds, and thus plays a large role in your success or failure for the entire day and beyond.

By incorporating a daily hour of power into your first morning hour, during your brain alpha wave stage, you can create and maintain a healthy, positive, happy, and successful lifestyle. Here is an example of my daily morning hour of power:

Time

Before sleeping each night, I determine the amount of time I can dedicate to my hour of power when I wake up in the morning. The amount of time I spend on my hour of power is not important. I try to reserve one hour, but as little as 30 minutes, even 15 minutes, greatly improves my mental and emotional mood for the entire day.

Place

When I awaken in the morning, if I am alone, I remain in my bed. If I am not alone, I find a comfortable place where I can be alone, which is normally on my living room couch. I normally lay down on my back with my head on a pillow and my arms and hands at my sides.

Breathing

I begin with a brief session of prolonged deep breathing. I inhale for 1 count through my nose. I then hold my breath for 4 counts. Finally, I exhale for 2 counts through my mouth. I breath this way 10 times, slowly.

Values and Beliefs

I affirm my personal life values and beliefs. I do this by saying them out loud. I might tell myself: “Health, money, love, and happiness. Today, I am going to eat delicious natural foods, take time for a daily 30-minute aerobic exercise routine, and practice mindfulness to eliminate any stress. I am going to focus upon a work career that incorporates my special talents and gifts, that I have passion and love for, and which involves a secure money niche. I am going to save 20 percent of my work income by paying myself first and I will invest my savings to become financially independent. I love God and my family and friends, and I will show ultimate respect to people at my work and in society. I will learn from my past, live in the present moment, and plan for my future.”

Gratitude

I express my gratitude for my life. I say out loud 10 specific things I am grateful for in my life. For example, instead of saying, “I am grateful for my health,” I say, “I am grateful to see and hear. I am grateful for a regular heartbeat and low blood pressure. I am grateful to be able to walk and talk and think normally without any issues.”

Motivation

Using my smartphone, I watch a short motivational video on YouTube that will empower my day. I normally choose a video that promotes positive personality development. My video choices include brief lectures by Jim Rohn, Les Brown, Brian Tracey, Wayne Dyer, Joe Dispenza, Eric Thomas, Earl Nightingale, Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins, and  Steve Harvey, just to name a few people. Alternatively, I slowly read one of the personality development messages included in Chapter 3 of this book.

Meditation

I practice a short silent meditation by closing my eyes and relaxing my body while taking prolonged deep breaths. There are many mediation methods I choose from. They all achieve the same beneficial goal of providing me valuable life energy, putting me in a better mental and emotional mood, strengthening my physical immune system, and keeping me alert and focused all day.

Blood Pressure

I take my blood pressure reading 3 times with a digital blood pressure device that wraps around my upper arm. My goal is for my systolic blood pressure to be less than 120 mm Hg, and my diastolic blood pressure to be less than 80 mm Hg. If I fail to achieve my goal, I repeat my meditation session, and take my blood pressure again. If I fail once again to achieve my goal, I practice stress reduction, exercise, and diet strategies included in Chapter 3 of this book during my entire day.

Exercise

I perform a 1-3 minute session of aerobic exercise. It’s not about my exercising hard, breathing fast, and working up a sweat. It’s all about exercising slowly so I get my blood flowing throughout my head and body. I usually perform standing jumping jacks or any simple and easy body movement which exercises my arms, legs, back, and stomach.

Weight

I weigh myself on a digital scale. If my weight is greater than my desired goal, I reduce my normal food intake for the day. If my weight is less than my desired goal, I may enjoy extra food for the day.

Organize

I plan and organize my day while taking a shower in my bathroom. I prioritize my chores, tasks, and projects. I begin with what is important and urgent for today, and then what is important and not urgent, followed by what is not important and urgent, and finally, what is not important and not urgent. My goal is not to physically start my day until I have finished my day in my mind.

News

I catch up on the local, national, and international news, but I limit myself to only the top 5-10 news stories while I eat breakfast. My goal is to just make sure the world is still here, and no personal emergencies or important local, national, or world events require my immediate attention or action.

Visualization

I visualize my waking hours while I groom myself, dress, and get ready for my day. I envision exactly how I want my day to successfully unfold.

Affirmations

I repeat positive affirmations that will inspire and supercharge my day.

Mindfulness

I conclude my morning hour of power with Mindfulness. I tell myself that I will live in the present moment, accept people without judging them, accept everything I cannot control, and have compassion for every living creature on earth.

RECTICULAR ACTIVATION SYSTEM

Within the intricate structure of your human brain lies a remarkable physical system scientists call your reticular activation system (“RAS”). Your RAS consists of a complex network of neurons that extend from your brainstem to various regions throughout your brain, including your thalamus, hypothalamus, and cortex. Your RAS plays a pivotal role in acting as your surveillance system, regulating your level of human consciousness, determining what captures your immediate attention, and influencing your mental and emotional responses and motivation.

Your RAS acts as your surveillance system, constantly scanning the environment for stimuli that is relevant to your personal survival, well-being, and goals. The RAS is responsible for filtering sensory information from various sources, including what you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch, and then determining which sensory information is important to ensure your survival.

Your RAS also regulates your level of human consciousness. It acts as a switch, controlling the transition between wakefulness and sleep. When your RAS is activated, such as during your waking day, it promotes wakefulness, alertness, and a constant state of heightened consciousness. When your RAS is inhibited, such as during your sleep hours and relaxation times, it allows you to enter states of reduced awareness and restoration.

Your RAS further plays a crucial role in directing your immediate mental attention. It filters the overwhelming amount of sensory information bombarding your five physical senses, allowing only the most relevant stimuli to enter your conscious awareness and capture your mental attention. This filtering mechanism helps you mentally focus upon what is most important and urgent for you at the present moment.

Finally, your RAS influences your emotional responses and motivation. It interacts with your brain regions involved in emotional processing, such as your limbic system which modulates your emotional experiences. Your RAS determines the emotional significance of incoming sensory information, influencing your mood and attitude, and guiding your behavioral responses. Your RAS also plays a role in regulating your motivation and arousal levels, influencing your drive to engage in certain activities or pursue specific goals.

There are countless everyday examples of how your RAS works in your life. One example involves your standing amongst a crowd of people, ignoring their conversations, and then suddenly snapping to attention when someone says your name. Another example of your RAS occurs when you drive a car along the same route to work every day, and never notice commercial establishments along the route, such as an Italian restaurant, until you crave Italian food. Or when you contemplate buying a certain car and then you notice that car more often while driving on the public roads. Or when you own certain possessions, such as clothes, shoes, or watches, and you then notice other people wearing those possessions for the first time.

A classic example of our RAS involves a husband and wife who sleep soundly during the night inside their bedroom while jet airplanes take off and land at a nearby airport, yet the wife immediately awakens when her newborn baby stirs in the next bedroom. The mother’s RAS filtered out the unimportant jet noise, but not the important sound of her baby stirring nearby.

Understanding the physical functions of your RAS enables you to enhance your cognitive and emotional abilities and conscious experiences. By adopting conscious strategies to optimize your RAS, including a morning hour of power, daily meditation session, and/or 24/7 practice of mindfulness, you can greatly improve your level of human consciousness and awareness, determine what should capture your immediate attention and focus, and positively influence your mental performance, emotional responses, and personal motivation and goals. When you focus your positive mindset upon any goal you desire or feel passionately about, and direct your actions toward that goal, your RAS will highlight and reveal to you every important opportunity, prospect, and situation necessary to achieve your intended goal.

The three most important questions in life are: "Who are we? “Where Do We Come From? Where Are We Going?"

You are living, thinking, feeling, acting, spiritual being living in a physical body who deserve four blessings every day of your life: (1) Happiness: Pure joy, satisfaction, and contentment, with an ultimate life purpose; (2) Health: Energy, stamina, and mental and physical pleasure, with absence of pain; (3) Money: Financial security and independence; and (4) Love: admiration and respect, love our self and others, and be loved by others.

Virtually every person who has ever lived on Earth has wondered if he or she existed somewhere else, either in body, soul, or spirit, before being physically born on the planet Earth and after one's physical death. Virtually every religion, philosophy, culture, and civilization has answered the question with a resounding “YES!
Join me on an incredible journey about your past, present, and future life. By understanding how to live in the world, you will know what the world is all about, and thus live a successful life filled with happiness, health, money, and love.

THREE LIFE QUESTIONS

Who are you?

With respect to the universe, the planet earth, and the human race, today we live and work in smart homes, and concrete and steel skyscrapers that kiss the clouds, soar one mile above Earth in air-conditioned cabins at 700 miles per hour, walk upon the Moon, and drive rovers on Mars. We transmit television images to every living person on Earth, talk on cellular telephones to anyone we want, anywhere we want, anytime we want, and access information on computer monitors containing over 5 billion pages of information. We transplant human hearts and limbs, make blind people see and deaf people hear, and resuscitate people after their breathing and hearts have stopped functioning for several hours.

With respect to your individual human existence, virtually every person who has ever lived on Earth has wondered who he or she is mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, and what his or her life purpose is on Earth. Virtually every religion, philosophy, culture, and civilization has answered these questions by asserting that you are living, thinking, feeling, acting, spiritual being living in a physical body who deserve four blessings every day of your life: (1) Happiness: Pure joy, satisfaction, and contentment, with an ultimate life purpose; (2) Health: Energy, stamina, and mental and physical pleasure, with absence of pain; (3) Money: Financial security and independence; and (4) Love: admiration and respect, love our self and others, and be loved by others.

Where did you Come from

Before Your Birth on Earth?

With respect to the universe, the planet earth, and the human race, today’s astrophysicists, based upon new photographs received from the James Webb telescope which is floating in outer space 100 million miles from Earth, tell us the entire universe exploded into existence 26 billion years ago with a ‘Big Bang.’ They also tell us the universe gave birth to the planet Earth 4.5 billion years ago. The first life forms appeared on Earth 3.5 billion years ago. Our first human ancestors emerged 6 million years ago. We began using stone tools 3 million years ago. 13,000 years ago, humans domesticated animals and plants. 10,000 years ago, humans tamed the four elements of life: air, land, water, and fire. The first written recorded history and civilization began 7,000 years ago in Mesopotamia, once Iraq and now Egypt. Ancient Greece originated in 3,000 years ago. The classic Greek philosophers, Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, lived 2,500 years ago. The longest civilization in world history, the Roman Empire, ruled for 1,000 years approximately 2,000 years ago.

With respect to your individual human existence,  virtually every person who has ever lived on Earth has wondered if he or she existed somewhere else, either in body, soul, or spirit, before being physically born on the planet Earth. Virtually every religion, philosophy, culture, and civilization has answered the question with a resounding “YES!” For example, today’s modern scientists have shown us overwhelming evidence that our bodies, souls, or spirits existed prior to our physical birth on Earth. One group of renowned doctors and scholars conducted more than 2,500 case studies over a period of 40 years, and published 12 books, regarding young children who described their past lives in vivid details. Some children spoke in the foreign language of their past life. Other children had physical birth marks matching the deceased person whom the children identified and believed they were in their prior life. Still other children had physical birth defects identical to those people they identified as their prior self.

Where are you Going

After Your Death on Earth?

With respect to the universe, the planet earth, and the human race,  today’s physicists tell us that by the year 2050, we will live and work in homes and offices supported by artificial intelligence robots that will run every aspect of our lives, including cleaning our homes and offices, cooking our meals, washing our clothes, paying our bills, and shopping for our necessary services and products. We will travel in self-driving cars that levitate on an invisible cushion of magnetism that flows through superconducting sensors in the roadway pavement, ride in hyperloop trains racing along at 800 mph, fly in hypersonic jet planes that make suborbital parabolic incursions beyond the edge of earth’s atmosphere, known as the ‘Karman line,’ and into the first layer of outer space, make trips in from earth to international space stations in a space ladder powered by sunlight and laser light projected from the ground, and travel to Mars in a spaceship that travels through a wormhole, an invisible tunnel known through the very fabric of space and time that connects far-reaching corners of the universe. Doctors will perform human brain transplants, grow human embryos and fetuses inside a five-gallon glass bottles filled with amniotic fluid, grow human hearts and other organs inside mammals such as sheep and pigs, and perform internal surgeries by means of a tiny computerized insect that crawls inside our body. We will have human colonies living permanently on the planet Mars which will be terraformed to raise the temperature to 80 degrees and increase the production of oxygen for essential breathing. We will enjoy our leisure time by turning our homes into  a virtual reality parlor that instantly takes us on a multi-sensory journey to anywhere in the world to do anything we please, including watching live professional sports events from the viewpoint of a player on the field. Finally, we will become mentally and physically young for as long as we desire, empowered by a Fountain of Youth of genetic DNA changes and chemical drugs.

With respect to your individual human existence,  people virtually every person who has ever lived on Earth has wondered if he or she will exist somewhere else, either in body or spirit, after his or her physical death on Earth. Virtually every religion, philosophy, culture, and civilization has answered the question with a resounding “YES!” For example, modern scientists have shown us overwhelming evidence that our bodies, spirits, and souls continue to exist for at least 7 hours after our lungs stop breathing and our hearts stop beating, and that we can return to Earth alive again after this 7 hour period of time. As a result, we now know, for the first time in our 6 million year human history, what happens to us during the first 7 hours after our brains, lungs, and hearts cease to function. Best of all, Virtually every religion, philosophy, culture, and civilization believes that you will continue to exist long after your physical death on the Earth.
